is a performance character created by Joy-Marie Thompson. It aims to LILITHconfront the phenomenon of isolating a black body in a white space and the effort that this particular alienated body must overcome to reclaim it's space in an unfamiliar place.
With the name inspired by the Jewish demon with the same name, the appearance of LILITH has various influences. Those influences are most notably Joy-Marie Thompson x Rachel Neville's Evolution (2016) photo series and Kiki Smith's Lilith (1994).
LILITH continues to serve as a performance project accumulating an array of artists for collaboration including: Sidra Bell, Carly Heywood, Casey Brooks, and Citizen Chance.
